About Yakathon
Yakathon is a 200 km ultra endurance event from Kingston to Ottawa along the Rideau Canal.
The first Yakathon took place in 2010 with four participants. Today, more than 25 people take part each year, with many returning again and again.
Participants travel the route primarily by kayak, paddling the Rideau Canal and walking between locks where needed. It takes place over several days and is designed to test physical strength, mental endurance and just how far you’re willing to push yourself.
The Challenge
Yakathon also raises money for a selected charity each year.
Previous events have supported the Canadian Mental Health Association, with $11,200 raised in 2026. For 2027, Yakathon is supporting Parkinson Canada.
The fundraising is part of the event from the beginning. Participants take on a difficult 200 km challenge while helping raise money for a cause the Yakathon community wants to support.
The Cause
Our story
Our journey has been anything but ordinary. Through every step, we've focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.
What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead. What sets us apart isn’t just our process—it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose at every turn.
Why we paddle
We're not here to follow trends—we're here to build something timeless. With a blend of creativity, strategy, and heart, we help ideas come to life. Every project we take on is an opportunity to learn, grow, and do something meaningful. We treat our clients like partners and our work like craft.
